The following are wholesome, healthy, whole food recipes for a healthier lifestyle for you and your family.  The ingredients are whole foods that are generally found in your grocery store.  However, some ingredients may need to be purchased at a natural foods grocery.
This collection of recipes was recently begun (January 2011) by myself and the customers of Good Health Herbs.  I hope to expand it into many recipes as more are submitted.

Raw Almond Milk
Submitted by Peggy Connell

soak 1 cup raw almonds overnight in enough water to cover almonds +1 inch.

In the morning, drain off water and put in a blender.  Add 3 cups of fresh water and blend for about 1-2 minutes.  Strain through cheese cloth and use.  The remaining pulp can be used in baking.
If you like your milk thicker and richer tasting, decrease the water.  If you like your milk thinner and more watery, add water.

Breakfast Smoothie
Mix the following all together in a blender:
frozen or fresh fruit
Nature's Sunshine Products "Love & Peas" protein powder
Coconut milk, Hemp milk or whole raw grass fed cows milk (for those healthy fats)
Blend until smooth and serve.
This recipe is a great way to send your kids off to school with a healthy breakfast that will not only keep them alert and focused, but will last them till lunch!
Love & Peas is low glycemic, dairy and gluten free, and contains prebiotics, fiber, enzymes, fruits and vegetables all in an easy to use powder.

Cappuccino
A new recipe that includes the NEW NSP SmartMeal protein powder.  One of my customers compared this to Starbucks Iced Cappuccino/Frappuccino!
Ingredients:
4 oz. milk or water
4 oz. coffee or espresso
2 scoops Nature's Sunshine's (NSP)  Vanilla SmartMeal or Chocolate Smartmeal
1 packet Sweetleaf Stevia (optional)
ice to the consistency you like
Put all in a blender and blend till smooth.  This tastes similar to Starbucks iced Cappuccino/Frappacino and is only 130-140 calories if you use water
